Log: Bianchi and Miranda

Bianchi was sitting outside the small Inn on a bench by the front drive, typing on a laptop while she waited for Hayato's new woman to arrive so Bianchi could decide how she felt about the other woman. The sun was high in the sky and the weather was actually nice. She'd had the kitchen put together a light tea, with finger foods and petite sweets. The woman had said she'd be able to find her way to this island well enough. It was only a matter of time.

"O-Only when there's a reason to be drinking" Another sheepish smile. Miranda really didn't want to mention that she had least one beer a week.

Miranda's worries were completely unfounded, Bianchi is Italian afterall. Wine is a staple with any major meal, a drink or two is not a problem. Drinking heavily is also not terribly uncommon but she'd never seen her brother do it. Not enough to end up with a hangover. She looks at the woman blankly for a moment. "Ahh, you made it sound like it was a common occurrence."

An inward sigh of relief. "No no, it's just when it happens he tends to go a little overboard"

"Ah.." There was a lot she didn't know about her brother despite trying to watch over him. She sighed and set her empty teacup down. "He must be very relaxed with you."

"Mm... I would guess so" Miranda shrugs, going to take another sip from her cup and noticing it was empty. "Would you like some more, Bianchi?" she asks, standing and pouring some more of the liquid into her cup.

Bianchi shakes her head. "No thank you." She looks at the other woman wistfully. Hayato seems to treat her very well. She was happy he had someone return his feelings. Even before she had someone who thought only of her. It was nice to know he could be happy.

"If you say so" The Exorcist plops some sugar into her tea, stirring it carefully. The tea was already mostly cooled because of how long it had been sitting in the pot, so Miranda sips it gently, careful not to spill any on herself. That would be really embarressing. She sets the cup down once done, and looks up to Bianchi. Hm... What to say now? "Um... I-I'm not really sure what else to ask. I-Is that everything you wanted to know?"

[identity profile] deadlydelicacy.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Bianchi looked curiously at her. "If I say so?" Had she said something to agree to? Was the woman only trying to agree with her? Or just nervous?

"For now." She said patiently. "If you come visit to learn and visit the spa, I'm sure we'll get to know each other even better. I'd like you to be comfortable with me." She nods to a server who clears away the finished dishes but leaves a new warm teapot in case they aren't through yet.

"A-Ah. I suppose 'If you're sure' would have been more appropriate?" Miranda blushes slightly, embarressed at the mixup.

"Like I said, I would love to come visit you, Bianchi. Of course, you're welcome on the Vongola whenever you li--" Oh but what about Gokudera's weak stomach. Err... "...i-is there anyway you and your brother can be together without him getting sick?"

[identity profile] deadlydelicacy.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Ahh." Bianchi smiled at the blush. Just nerves probably.

She did stiffen a bit at being told she was welcome on the Vongola's boat. She would have been regardless, being allied with them. Reborn was there as well and it might have been a little irritating to hear it from someone who wasn't technically part of the family but she needed to remember that this woman had been traveling with the family for some time now. And it was probably just thoughtlessness that the woman told Bianchi she made her brother sick. As true as it might be.

It took her a moment to stop her initial kneejerk reaction to the words. Closing her eyes and setting her hands in her lap, spreading her fingers across her thighs and letting the feelings subside before opening her eyes again, still deadpan. "Hayato has informed me he'd rather I didn't come." Even if she could cover her face. The face that made her brother vomit. She could pretend she didn't know but she was a smart woman. Regardless of what she said, she was aware.

Miranda's blush fades, and the sheepish grin is replaced with a concerned hard line. Did she say something wrong? The woman's welcoming demeanor had changed completly within moments. Oh no... she probably did say something wrong. The Exorcists' shoulders slump lightly. And things were going so well. But of course her bad luck had decided to ruin things. Or maybe it was just her stupidity. Self-doubt shrouds the older woman's features, and she peeks up at Bianchi unsurely.

"He can't mean that... you're his family. Besides..." Ok let's try to make thinsg better here... "He says that sort of thing to a lot of people who want to visit!"

Miranda miraculously missed the problem and hit another nerve. She didn't even realize she'd told Bianchi that her proximity to her brother made him sick. Or if she did realize it, didn't understand that it sounded hurtful.

And then she doesn't know that Bianchi really does think Hayato hates her. And she's just been counting on her love to change his mind. She thought she'd made progress last year but his reception this year indicates a setback twice the amount that she'd gained the previous year. "Hayato's family... hasn't been the kindest of places." She points out. "I think for now it would be best if I kept my distance... but Miranda?" She almost looks hopeful as she looks up at the woman.

[identity profile] time-exorcist.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
She actually didn't know about the proximity. She just knew that from his accounts, he got sick whenever she was around. Miranda assumed this to mean her cooking, and not her actual presence.

It's like a stab through the heart to hear that the family that both Bianchi and he came from was not a good one. Of course, she knew about the castle and the maids and playing for big parties and things like that, but not the details. "Y-Yes, Bianchi?"

[identity profile] deadlydelicacy.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
She looks down again for a moment then back up. "Would you perhaps, keep in touch, and just let me know when anything good... or bad, happens with Hayato?" She lifts a finger to twirl a piece of her hair, worrying it. It's very hard to stay away from him, but it would help, if she knew someone would at least keep her abreast of important things. She could watch him from afar and not bother him as much.

Miranda's gaze softens, admiring Bianchi's love for her brother, even though he was so harsh to her. Honestly, maybe Miranda would have to talk to him about that. She seemed so nice! "Of course I will"

[identity profile] deadlydelicacy.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Bianchi relaxes completely at that affirmation. "Thank you." She smiles up at the other woman tenderly. "I should probably let you get back. I've taken enough of your time."

Blinking, the older woman flips up her wrist, pulling down her sleeve to see the watch. Oh dear, she had been here a while! And she hadn't even told anyone where she was going! "Ah, it's no trouble. If anyone says anything, which I doubt, I'll just tell them where I was. No big deal" Miranda stands, dusting some crumbs off her long skirt.
